Dorna created the Road to MotoGP™ to open the doors to motorcycle racing, improving access in the race towards global equality.
Road to MotoGP™ helps aspiring riders reach success by making motorsports accessible.
Competitions
The FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship is often the final stepping stone for young riders on the way to the MotoGP™ paddock – and has been creating champions for more than a quarter of a century.
Since 2014, the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup has provided unrivalled opportunities for young riders across Asia and Oceania. It has grown to become one of the most successful paths on the Road to MotoGP™, discovering talents like Ai Ogura and Somkiat Chantra.
The R&G British Talent Cup is the sole British Moto3 class, providing a platform for riders across the UK to learn their craft and home their skills – with places further up on the Road to MotoGP up for grabs.
The Northern Talent Cup is aimed at riders from central and northern Europe, creating a new set of opportunities in their own competition – with a calendar designed to increase opportunity for all.
Designed as the first step on the Road to MotoGP™ and in collaboration with the FIM, the FIM MiniGP World Series is the first initiative in motorsport aimed at creating grassroots equality.
Since 2007, the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup is a key stepping stone for riders on their way to the Moto3™ World Championship. It races alongside MotoGP weekends too!
Empowering the youth
Dorna provides aspiring young riders with a range of initiatives and opportunities as part of our global Road to MotoGP™ platform.
Team
Each year, Dorna runs the Junior Talent Team in JuniorGP™— providing a key opportunity for young riders graduating from other paths on the Road to MotoGP™.
